I had a weird experience with a pet budgie who was about 2 yrs old. He died this past weekend. I think he ate himself to death. He was in an eating frenzie for about 3 days. He wanted no contact with me the night before he passed and searched for food like he’d never eaten before. Have you ever heard of this? I have 2 females that I’m very concerned about but they seem to be healthy and act like normal birds. Any suggestions on what cased this? Much appreciated!

that was a BIG sign to take your bird to an AVIAN vet. birds hide their illnesses to survive in the wild. so if you actually NOTICE something abnormal (lik excess eating) it means that your bird has been sick for a while and needs immediate attention. excess eating is a sign that something is wrong. just google bird care and signs of illness and they’ll tell you some important signs to look for. over or under eating is one. fluffed feathers. glazed look in their eyes…etc. sorry for your loss.
